Only very few kilometers away from the Tannenmühle lies the Lake Schluchsee, the largest lake of the Black Forest, which offers an outdoor pool, boat renting or steam-ship tours.

Directly at the corner of the lake you can enter the romantic Höllentalbahn “Hell-Valley-Train”, which is just the opposite as its name says.

The train passes unbelievable nature, including the largest hill of the Black Forest, the Feldberg (~1500m above sea) inviting for winter sports or wonderful hiking trips. A further stop can be at the Lake Titsee which offers a unique shopping and dining promenade directly at the waterside. In just one hour total trip you reach after crossing the 50m high bridge over the Ravenna canyon Freiburg, the capital city of the Black Forest with its world famous gothic cathedral and countless cafés and stores.
